Making Dirt

I have spent this week baking, smashing, sieving dirt. Over and Over again. The goal is still to make enough sediment, so I will be able to complete this experiment without having to stop again and play with mud pies again. I have found the grand share of this experiment has been preparing to do the experiment. Not too exciting but very necessary. By very liberal estimate.... For every 3 pounds of raw material I am getting about 4-6 ounces of sediment to use. The bright side of the coin is I am not panning for gold because at this point I have not encountered as much as pyrite. I am thinking I may need to look into a source of more usable sand this is becoming very tedious.
