🤷🤷
Just to think over a year ago if someone were to talk to me
about plants I would’ve told you about the many mishaps I’ve had with plants in
years past. I probably would’ve proclaimed I should be labeled a “carnivore.” Naturally,
I would let plants occupy their own lane on Planet Earth and in return I would travel
my own lane. I believed I had the extreme opposite of a” green finger.”(Maybe called
a “dead finger”)? What I didn’t know was all the specifics about plants. I
certainly didn’t know we could survive off of just eating plants. I didn’t know
that plants were finickier than a tired toddler. Furthermore, I didn’t know it
was possible to have an idea what exactly a plant was required to grow and
thrive. I didn’t know plants suspended in water without soil would grow if
nutrients were added to the water. Most importantly, while being in this
program I have learned I am not much different than plants. Even though outside
challenges have sought to bring an end to the very accomplishments I have
worked so hard for, although my roots aren’t covered in the traditional student
soil, the vitality of this institution, more specifically this program, has
served as nutrients to keep me moving in the right direction. I have
learned over the last year that living things will thrive if put in the right
environment, giving the right resources (nutrients) to allow them grow in a way
that makes them beneficial to other living things around them. Although, my ray
florets may not seem to be basking in the sun… They are 🤷
